The Texas Quarter Horse Association began in 1978 and is the largest American Quarter Horse affiliate. We are located in Austin, Texas and have a staff that runs two divisions, Racing and Halter and Performance.
The Accredited Texas Bred program provides millions of dollars in purse supplements of cash to owners, breeders and stallion owners of each ATB horse finishing first, second or third. The Race program includes one of the richest Quarter Horse races in the world, the Texas Classic Futurity. The Annual Yearling Sale for Accredited Texas Bred horses brings buyers from around the world. These yearlings are then eligible for the $100,000 added TQHA Sale Futurity. TQHA’s Stallion Service Program offers discount breeding seasons to many of the nation’s top stallions to current members.
TQHA approves over 50 AQHA shows in Texas hosted by area Texas Affiliates. Points earned at these shows are used for year end awards, Youth World qualifying, and the Champion of Champion Invitational for novice exhibitors. TQHA also produces the Texas Classic, one of the largest AQHA shows in the country. For those 18 or younger, TQHYA has a program to fit all levels.
